Mistaken Identity: St. Thomas Aquinas and Thomas the Train

For some background, Thomas the Train is a beloved character around here. Our two year old has loved Thomas since I first turned on the show, in a desperate attempt to get dinner done without carrying him on my hip. “Thomas” is a household name, and when anyone talks about “Thomas”, they mean Thomas the Train.

Yesterday, my husband chose a patron saint for our school year, St. Thomas Aquinas. Since today was our “first day back”, I prayed in thanksgiving for our good day, and asked, “…that St. Thomas Aquinas will pray for our continued learning…”

At which point our two year old, The Comedian, interrupted, “Thomas don’t pray!”

And the rest do us couldn’t contain the laughter. I wonder how long it will be before the poor kid realizes there are two Thomases?
