Embrace the Ordinary vol. 8
“…there is something holy, something divine hidden in the most ordinary situations, and it is up to each one of you to discover it.” St. Josemaria Escriva, Passionately Loving the World
You guys. We’ve been embracing the beauty of our ordinary days for 8 weeks! If you keep it up, or join us for the first time and make it a habit, you’ll have a lovely collection of photos and memories. You could turn it into a scrapbook of sorts. I think I will.
I don’t know about the rest of you mothers, (and fathers), but after a while, I sometimes forget what is like to play…especially when the older siblings are happy and willing to play with the younger siblings. I’m no longer the number 1 play-mate! It is freeing, you know, to have a handful of children who play nicely together. But it also now means that I have to remind myself to leave the housework for a while and go be intentional about playing.
We played in the sand this week. He loved it and was so sad when it was time to go in the house. (Thankfully a bath was in store, because he loves baths, too. He cheered right up.)

So sweet! I don’t play as much as I used to because the neighbor kids come over. Time to get the games out again.
What are you favorite games? We are going to play Jenga today, I hope.
Qwirkle, SET, and Swish are probably my favorites. I don’t think we even own Jenga, but the thought reminds me of a night in college playing Jenga all night
Being “intentional about playing” is a tough for one for me. Thanks for the reminder 🙂 I think I’ll try to make it a priority this next week!
Let me know how it goes! I often would rather run away for some silence than play…but I am going to pull out some games this week.
