Embrace the Ordinary vol. 19
Well. The weekend sure is flying by for me. After celebrating my daughter’s tenth birthday on Friday, I spent yesterday going on a so-called run (“so-called” because I haven’t run in a month, I was pushing the stroller, and basically having a really hard time. Oh well. At least I was out!), trying to finish shopping for Thanksgiving, and attempting to find Christmas dresses for the girls. By 8pm we finally had a big enough turkey, didn’t find any dresses, but had enjoyed a nice evening out as a family running the errands and eating out at Chipotle. Now I’m looking forward to a cozy Sunday at home, watching “Frozen” with the kids (it is snowing here, so it’s a perfect choice for the day), and hopefully getting some fabric cut for my next quilt.
Basically, I’m soaking up the moments that make our life what it is, and spending fewer of those moments online. It’s the best way to embrace this ordinary life of mine.
I do love to read your stories about embracing the ordinary! Please link up, and when you do, make sure to visit some of the other blogs who link up, as well!

I really enjoy quilting in the winter..although my studies these last few years haven’t allowed much time for it. There’s so much creativity in choosing the fabrics, design, and even the quilting itself. My favorite is to sit with it over my lap watching a family movie while the snow falls. So you certainly have planned a beautiful Sunday! 🙂
Ah! Do you hand-quilt, then? I haven’t tried that yet. This quilt is supposed to be easy…we’ll see about that! It was a kit so I didn’t choose fabrics or design other than picking the kit from Craftsy! 😉 I think it would be fun to learn to quilt by hand.
Love this picture of you and your daughter! Both of you so beautiful! I realllly want and need to learn to quilt! I have a friend who said she’d come over and help me learn the basic ins and outs of my sewing machine that is presently still in it’s box as well as fabric purchasing and such. We just need to find a weekend day to spend together! 🙂 Would love love love to make quilts for both of my boys.
Thank you!
I am no expert on quilts, at all. I’m so afraid this one will turn out wonky when it is supposed to be more accurate with corners matching up… We’ll see!
love your insight on “soaking in the moments” of a busy, ordinary life. I feel like everything is so extreme these days – extreme busy followed by extreme illness followed by extreme holiday activity. Life is full – best to embrace it than rue it 🙂
Linking up this evening! It’s been a while!
