Embrace the Ordinary, 2018 vol. 4
Cloudy morning games
Coffee in hand, blankets spread
Snack bags all day long
We’ve done pizza and ice cream end-of-season parties, the kids had bruises and grass stains all season, and now those soccer-loving kids of mine are constantly kicking pillows and stuffed animals and dryer balls around the house.
Four kids. Three teams (praise the Lord, the big boys were on the same team. Scheduling was tricky enough with three different teams plus gymnastics). Seven weeks. Wins and losses. Pep-talks, cheers, lessons about sportsmanship. Learning to support siblings. We’ve done pizza and ice cream end-of-season parties, the kids had bruises and grass stains all season, and now those soccer-loving kids of mine are constantly kicking pillows and stuffed animals and dryer balls around the house. I never imagine this would be our life, Fence probably dreamed about having little soccer players. And here we are, with four soccer players who love to wear their jerseys every day for fun.
(also, the above photo is as candid as it gets. Five siblings squished together to watch their sister play.)
